Hydro-Tech Debuts Industry’s First Fully Integrated Multibeam Echo Sounder MC400C Built-in Sonar Processor, IMU, GNSS & SVS

As an important milestone of multibeam industry, Hydro-Tech debuts the innovative fully integrated multibeam echo sounder MS400C, a first-of-a-kind multibeam bathymetric system built-in sonar processor, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) & Sound Velocity Sensor (SVS) in one sonar head. So compact design advancement will change the conventional multibeam deployment method on small Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs).

 

No More Sonar Processor

Only one sonar head is all you need for USV! The installation turns out to be very quick and simple. First, mount sonar head to USV bottom, then connect the cables, one to power supply & Industrial Personal Computer (IPC), another to primary and the other to secondary GNSS antenna. Greatly reduce any possible mis-operation and cut down on the complicated training. At the same time, the ultra-compact MS400C also saves space in USV waterproof cabin.

No More Overheating

Everything including sonar processor, IMU and its computer system perfectly work in the enclosed housing of sonar head, which is immersed in water to cooling down. Thus combination avoid overheating even after long time working in super hot summer season since no more sonar processor or INS computer system exposed in strong sunshine.

 

Plug and Play Convenience

All position relationships of IMU & transducer center and USV GNSS antenna are fixed and set up in the software by the USV designer already. Just after several minutes fast deployment on-site, click on Auto Survey function, MS400C will automatically set up the working parameters according to the water environment. No more complicated setting and boost the surveying efficiency.

 

Additionally, with the accurate vessel attitude data & sound velocity from internal INS & SVS, the new generation of bathymetric system has real-time roll stabilization function and delivers high resolution depth data. MS400C combines unparalleled cost efficiency and remarkable performance even in challenging and demanding environments. This small & light multibeam echo sounder is ideal for inland underwater surveys and marks the beginning of a new era in USV bathymetric applications.
